Kindergarten program

An approved Queensland kindergarten program for the year before Prep, taught by a registered teacher inside the long day.

Twenty five places for four to five year olds in the year before Prep. Talei is a registered teacher and delivers the approved kindergarten program under the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline for fifteen hours a week across forty weeks, inside your normal long day rather than as a separate session you have to drive to. The block construction in the first film is that program: it ran for five weeks, the children drew the tower before they built it, and the argument about whether the roof would hold was the point. Every child leaves with a transition to school statement written by Talei and sent to their school with your consent.

15 hours a week over 40 weeks, inside the long day

Daily fee before Child Care Subsidy. The lower figure is the permanent five day rate, three and four day bookings sit in the middle, and single or casual days sit at the top. Fees are set in January and hold for the calendar year. Queensland kindergarten funding is applied to eligible children in their kindergarten year and comes off the fee, and we will show you what that does to a sample invoice before you enrol.

What families ask about kindergarten program

Is this a real kindergarten program or just a room called kindy?

It is an approved kindergarten program delivered by a teacher registered with the Queensland College of Teachers, following the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline. You can ask us to show you the program plan and the teacher's registration at any tour.

Do we pay for kindergarten on top of the daily fee?

No. The program runs inside the long day at no separate charge, and Queensland kindergarten funding is applied to eligible children in their kindergarten year. Child Care Subsidy applies to the daily fee as normal.

Will my child be ready for Prep?

Readiness is not a set of worksheets. Talei works on separating from you, holding an idea for more than a minute, managing a lunchbox and asking an adult for help. The transition statement tells the school what your child can already do.
