Everyday
Meals and nutrition
Four meal services a day cooked on site by our own cook, on a five week rotating menu published in advance.
Breakfast until half past seven, morning tea, a hot lunch and afternoon tea, all cooked here by Wendy rather than delivered frozen. The morning tea in the first film is an ordinary Tuesday: fruit cut for small hands, water on the table and children serving themselves. The menu runs on a five week rotation, is written against the Australian Dietary Guidelines and the Queensland nutrition guidance for early childhood, and is on the wall and in the app before the week starts. Allergies and cultural or medical requirements are cooked for individually, from a laminated board Wendy and every educator can read from the servery.

Questions about this room
What families ask about meals and nutrition
My child has a serious allergy. How do you manage it?
We need an action plan signed by your doctor before the first day. The plan goes on the servery board and in the room, the meal is cooked separately, and the educators in that room are trained in anaphylaxis. We are a nut aware service and we will tell you plainly if we cannot manage a particular risk safely.
What if my child will not eat what is on the menu?
We offer it, we do not force it, and we tell you what actually went in. Wendy keeps toast and fruit as a standing alternative so nobody goes hungry over a plate of curry.
Can I see the menu before enrolling?
Yes. Ask on the tour and we will hand you the current five week rotation and last term's one so you can see it is real.
