Settling in with a primary educator
One named educator who owns your child's settling, a plan that runs over two weeks, and honest reporting at drop off.
The second film opens on a toddler walking straight to an educator he knows. That does not happen by accident. Every child is assigned a primary educator before the first day, and that person does the orientation visits, takes the routine from you, writes the settling notes and is the one you ask when something is off. First days are short on purpose. The plan runs across a fortnight and we adjust it rather than push through it. If your child cries at the gate we will text you within twenty minutes and tell you the truth, including on the days it takes longer than twenty minutes.

What families ask about settling in with a primary educator
My child screams at drop off. What do you do?
We take them, you go, and we message you inside twenty minutes with what actually happened. Long goodbyes make it worse. If a child is still distressed after half an hour we ring you rather than wait for pick up.
Can my child bring a comforter or a dummy?
Yes, and please label it. Comfort items stay with the child, including at sleep. We will send it home each Friday for a wash and remind you if it does not come back.
What if the primary educator is away?
Each child has a second named educator in the same room who knows the plan. We tell you at drop off when the primary is away rather than letting you find out from the sign out sheet.
