Toddlers get fifteen places at one educator to five, which is the national ratio for this age. The room opens straight onto the soft fall courtyard because two year olds do their thinking with their legs. Marnie runs a daily movement circuit on the balance beam and stepping pods, and the same outdoor space carries the water channel through the dry season. Toilet learning is done on your timetable with no pressure from us, and the room keeps a spare clothes drawer for the days it does not go to plan.

Ratio: 1 to 5. A fourth educator through the middle of the day, so breaks never thin the room.

$142 to $152

Full day, 6:30am to 6:30pm

Daily fee before Child Care Subsidy. The lower figure is the permanent five day rate, three and four day bookings sit in the middle, and single or casual days sit at the top. Fees are set in January and hold for the calendar year.

Questions about this room

What families ask about toddler room

My child is not toilet trained. Is that a problem?

No. Plenty of children move into the toddler room still in nappies and some are still in them when they leave it. We follow your plan and we do not charge extra for nappies at any age.

Is the balance beam safe for a two year old?

The beam sits low on poured soft fall rated for the fall height, and an educator spots every child on it. Marnie is the sun safety and equipment lead and checks the courtyard each morning before the room opens.

How do you manage biting?

We record it, we look for the trigger, and we talk to both families the same day without naming the other child. Biting at this age is almost always about language or crowding, so the fix is usually a change to the room, not to the child.
